I am interested in the intersection between international migration, racial and ethnic constructions, and national identities. My work is mostly focused on Latin America. For my MA thesis I am looking at how the emergence of an Afro-Chilean movement and the arrival of afrodescendant immigrants to Chile are challenging narratives around a racial and cultural homogeneous national identity in Chile.
